How we report
Clear labels build stronger trust.
Every public impact statement should fit one of four publishable categories: Verified Current, Verified Historical, Target / Goal, or Planned / Proposed. Information that is not yet verified does not publish as fact.
Measure the work at the level the evidence supports.
Depending on the program, measures may include participation, attendance, program delivery, completed learning, cohort activity, meals or units delivered, partner contributions, feedback, retention, transfer activity, and verified outcomes. Not every program will use every measure.
Put the detail where it belongs.
When a program or cohort has enough verified evidence for a meaningful report, Southwest Suns may publish a dated module showing the delivery period, what was provided, what was measured, what the evidence says, and what it does not yet establish.
Activity is not automatically impact.
An output tells you what Southwest Suns delivered—for example, participants enrolled, sessions completed, meals delivered, or coaches finishing a learning experience. An outcome describes a verified change associated with the work. Southwest Suns labels the difference rather than treating activity counts as proof of change.
Evidence should be useful, proportionate, and respectful.
Southwest Suns aims to collect enough information to understand delivery and improve programs without collecting unnecessary personal data or turning young people into marketing material. Program records should have a defined purpose, source owner, and retention approach appropriate to the activity.
Recognize support accurately.
When partners, sponsors, funders, or in-kind contributors support documented work, Southwest Suns may acknowledge that role without overstating what the relationship funded or produced.
